In a surprising result from a national polling group on May 14, 2012, Mitt Romney, is obviously thankful to see a jump to the most trusted individual, between the two major candidates for president.  This poll was conducted by CBS News and the New York Times and has found that Romney has edged ahead of Obama, leading 46% – 43%.  However, the race remains very close with the margin of error at four points.  This poll comes after the two candidates were tied in April, with Obama being ahead for the two months previous to that.

Obama held his lead with moderates, with Romney pulling ahead with independents.

The newest poll came out shortly after Obama announced that he had “flip-flopped” on the issue of gay marriage.  Surprisingly, almost 60% of voters said this would not influence their vote in the general election in the fall.  But, among the other 40%, it is widely believed that they would be driven to vote for Romney.

The fact that Obama came out in support of same-sex marriages was believed by most to have been a political move.

Mitt Romney has received many endorsements, showing that key members of the GOP are ready to support him in the election of 2012.  Some of the major endorsements are listed here with the key factors for the endorsers:

Tim Pawlenty says that he believes Mitt Romney can lead the country on the economy and jobs in a historic way.

Chris Christie believes that America can not survive another four years with Barrack Obama and Mitt Romney is the man that we need to lead America.  He believes that he brings that great private sector experience and he also brings experience as the Governor of Massachusetts and knowing how government works.

Nikki Haley, the governor of South Carolina says that she wants someone that is not part of the establishment in Washington, D.C….someone that knows how to turn broken companies around as well as someone who can make a decision and lead, turning around a broken Washington.

Former UN Ambassador, John Bolton supports Romney because he believes our country would be in dire straits both domestically and internationally if Obama is re-elected.

Governor Bob McDonald thinks that Romney is a results oriented conservative who would be the best leader to the economy back on track, to create jobs and to get the national debt under control.

Donald Trump endorses Mitt Romney by saying that he is tough, he is smart, he is sharp and he is not going to continue allow bad things to happen to this country.

Marco Rubio adds that Mitt Romney offers such a stark contrast to President Obama, who in addition to being successful as a governor,  has also been a success in the private sector.

Rep. Paul Ryan relays the fact that he sees Romney getting the country back on track and he is convinced that Romney has the skills, the capacity and the principles to do what it takes.

Former Presiden H. W. Bush has known Mitt Romney for a long time and believes that he can win the Presidency in the fall.

Rick Santorum thinks that Mitt Romney is speaking with clarity, conviction, with heart and mind…this is what conservatives want to hear.  he will bring the country together, like Ronald Reagan, to a place at the center-right.

Mitt Romney has also picked up the coveted endorsement of Jeb Bush, former Governor of Florida, who calls for Republicans to united behind Romney, taking the message of fiscal conservatism  and job creation to all voters this fall.

In a crowded hotel ballroom steps from a Washington, D.C.-area  subway stop Wednesday afternoon, Gingrich officially ended his bid for the  Republican presidential nomination.

“Today, I am suspending the campaign, but suspending the campaign does not  mean suspending citizenship,” Gingrich said, with wife, Callista, at his  side.

Although he did not officially back Mitt Romney, he offered lukewarm words of praise for the man who  beat him, saying that “this is not a choice between Mitt Romney and Ronald  Reagan.” Given that it is a choice between Romney and President Barack Obama,  Gingrich argued “the gap” between the two “is as wide as any point in American  history.”

He called the campaign a “truly wild ride,” and while thanking family and  supporters, he singled out wealthy casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and his  family, who nearly single-handedly bankrolled the pro-Gingrich super PAC that  kept him in the game.

Going forward, Gingrich said: “Callista and I are going to focus on a series  of key issues … and try to educate and move policies in Washington, D.C.  Probably central to this is a deep commitment to American exceptionalism.”

He provided few specific details about his plans, but during his lengthy  suspension speech recapped the entirety of his policy positions and vowed to  continue to work on them.

He said he will continue his media pursuits, writing books and producing  movies.

He added that the couple would also focus on religious liberty and domestic  energy independence as well as traveling to college campuses to talk about  saving for retirement.

“In a very real sense, we can be free of radical Islam, Saudi kings and  Chinese bondholders” if we reinvent our domestic energy policy, he said.

“I’m cheerfully going to take back up the issue of space,” he added,  referring to his crazy proposal to build a lunar colony by the end of  his second term — which he explained that his wife repeatedly told him was not  his best moment during the campaign.

Although Mitt Romney has not accumulated the number of delegates needed for the 2012 Presidential GOP nomination, he just swept the five state primary of April 24, 2012 and is presumed by most to be the 2012 presidential candidate representing the Republicans.

Rick Santorum, who dropped out of the race a couple of weeks ago, appeared on the Piers Morgan show tonight and all but endorsed Romney.  He said he would support whoever is the nominee, but will make his personal endorsement known at a later date.

Newt Gingrich has stated that he will reasses his campaign in the next few days and make an announcement soon.  It is widely speculated that he will be dropping out to support Romney as well.

Anne Romney reacted emotionally as she spoke about the women whom she had met on the campaign trail who said they were praying for her, and it was evident from her reaction that she was touched by that support.  She seems to be a very strong woman with a mission, and will not be deterred by her physical frailties that weigh heavily upon her from time to time.

Mitt Romney’s speech was uplifting and positive, which is where he will need to stay in the future to show the American people that he is the one to take over in November to steer the country in the right direction.

Obama-Clinton Whispers…

Will Hillary Rodham Clinton benefit from the insulting comments made by another Hilary (Hilary Rosen), when she said that Anne Romney had never worked a day in her life?

Some pundits believe that with this comment, Hillary Clinton is being considered again for the Vice – Presidential slot to run with President Obama.  It seems that Joe Biden had a place in the 2008 election and served a purpose, but is now in the position of being tossed aside for Mrs. Clinton.  It is clear that she would be an influence in getting women voters back on the President’s side.

As the convention draws closer and the decision will have to be made concerning the Vice Presidential candidates, surely Hillary Clinton is being considered, which will not only benefit Mr. Obama this year, but will put her in the perfect position for a run of her own in 2016.

With the 2012 GOP presidential nominee pretty much being wrapped up by Mitt Romney, many are wondering now who the GOP Vice President nominee will be.  Such suggestions as Chris Christie, Mitch Daniels, Bob McDonals and Nikki Haley, governor of South Carolina have been mentioned.  Whoever is chosen will contribute to the intensity of the debate in November of this year.

Rick Santorum has just announced that he will be dropping out of the race for the 2012 nomination for president.  This announcement comes at a time when his daughter, little 3 year old Bella, has been recently released from the hospital.  Evidentally, the pressures within the Santorum household are just too great at this time for Rick Santorum to continue his bid for President of the United States.  Little Bella suffers from a rare, genetic chromosomal disorder Trisomy 18.

This means that since Newt Gingrich’s organization has run out of steam and money, and even though he says he will not leave the race, ths nomination will surely, eventually go to Mitt Romney.  What seemed like a race that could go all the way to the convention is now all but over.

The interesting piece of the puzzle will be: Who will surface as the Vice-Presidential nominee to compliment Mitt Romney?  Will it be Marco Rubio, the popular Senator from Florida, who seems to represent the Tea Party?  Or could it be Rand Paul, the Senator from Kentucky, who is also the son of 2012 presidential candidate, Ron Paul?

Even though Rick Santorum is dropping out of the race, he says that he is not going to stop fighting…though now it seems as if he will be fighting to defeat Barack Obama by supporting Mitt Romney in November in the general presidential election.

With Mitt Romney winning in all of the primaries on April 3, 2012 it looks like he will be the eventual 2012 GOP presidential candidate.  How is the Obama administration feeling about this outcome, and are they confident that Mitt Romney can be defeated in November?

It is evident that  the Democrats would prefer to run against Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich and their confidence is very high that those opponents could be crushed in the general election.   Mitt Romney is by far the best qualified to be President of the United States as quoted by Jack Welch when he said:

His qualifications are Harvard Law School, Harvard MBA…joins BCG and goes to Bain Capital…leaves Bain Capital, it get into trouble and they ask him to come back…Bain then has its best 2 years ever…He then leaves Bain and goes to the Olympics…the Olympics were in a shambles with scandals, etc. when Romney took over and in addition 911 happened and everyone wanted to cancel the Olympics.  Romney takes over fixes the Olympics, which were very successful.  Now, he goes and runs for Governor of Massachusetts…Massachusetts is $370 million in debt…Romney goes to work and creates a surplus in the state’s budget…

Obviously, Mitt Romney is a leader, who has demonstrated over and over again that he is capable of leading this nation.  Obama said himself that if he could not turn things around in 3 years, he would be a one-term president.  Well, according to many, the time has come to collect on that statement.

Romney’s goal of making the United States the most attractive place for entrepreneurs and job creators, along with restoring its greatness is one that he maintains he can accomplish, because he has done it before.

Michelle Bachmann, for 2012 presidential candidate introduced a bill in the Congress to repeal Obamacare the day after it was passed.  She is still vowing to repeal the bill, if in fact, it is upheld by the Supreme Court as constitutional.

She is convinced that the American people hate this bill and that it is actually driving up the cost of healthcare in the United States.  When the bill was passed, we were promised that costs would go down and 30 million people who were not covered by health insurance would be covered.  It is estimated by the CBO that at least 20 million people are going to lose their health insurance because employers will not be able to afford the escalating costs.

Congresswoman Bachmann is certain that if the free market took control of the situation, the problem would be solved.  Let any person buy any health insurance policy in any state.  At the moment, you can only buy a policy in your own state and each state has its own mandate.

She emphasizes that if you make this one adjustment along with letting every American pay for his/her own medical expenses with their own tax-free dollars and reforming lawsuit abuse, the major problems would be solved.  Health insurance costs and health care costs would be driven down dramatically.

The Supreme Court is expected to rule on the constitutionality of the law by June 2012.

The Etch-A-Sketch Makes a Come-Back

Top advisor to Mitt Romney has  re-envigorated sales for the Etch-A-Sketch,

a popular toy from years gone by.  Wouldn’t you have loved to have the forsight to buy stock in the Etch-A-Sketch company a week ago?

This genius of an aide was asked if Romney would be re-positioning himself before the general election in the fall and his response was that he thought he would be hitting a re-set button – everything changes…it’s almost like an etch-a-sketch.  You kind of shake it up and re-start all over again.

Why would a comment about an innocent toy be so damaging?  Obama campaign officials and others went on Twitter, poking and mocking Romney’s aide.  Then it became a big story on all of the cable news channels.

Romney is really vulnerable to the fact that he has flip-flopped on many issues and this comparison to this sad little pre-digital age toy has brought it to the forefront again.  Hopefully, this little slip of the tongue will be forgotten by the time the election comes around.  We will see…

Super Tuesday, the culmination of a long primary season, where 24 states will be choosing their delegates for the GOP nomination is scheduled for March 6.   Even though Iowa and New Hampshire are first among the states to hold their primaries, they only hold the key to a small fraction of the total delegates needed for the nomination.   Many states have been jealous of the attention these early states get.

So, for the past few months, states have been juggling and adjusting their scheduled primaries to be among the first in line.  In response to this movement of primary dates, some states have been penalized and stripped of all or some of their delegates.

Huge delegate counts could be decided when the 24 states hold their primaries on Super Tuesday.  States like California, New York and Illinois will be major players that day.   This ay could become the deciding factor for both parties nominating processes.

Regardless of what you think about Super Tuesday, it’s important that you get out to vote.   Here are the steps you should take:

  • Get Informed
  • Vote (whether or not it’s on Super Tuesday)

Every vote, every state and every delegate is important.
